Our platform is dedicated to offering insightful and trustworthy content on motherhood. To ensure our content aligns with our mission, please adhere to the following guidelines.
Submission Requirements
Originality
- Your article must be unique, not published elsewhere, and remain exclusive to our platform post-publication.
- We prioritize content written by human authors, reflecting personal experiences or professional expertise in motherhood and parenting.
- AI-assisted content is okay as long as it is helpful and written at a high standard.
- Your work must be original, with no self-promotional content. We allow one (1) contextual link on the body of the article, as long as it is grammatically correct and makes sense.
Relevance
We’re looking for contributions that resonate with our topics:
- Child Behavior (Including problems and their solutions)
- Non-traditional families (divorced, blended, single motherhood)
- Mental Health
- General Parenting
Please ensure that your content reflects these areas.
We strongly support diversity and encourage contributions from a wide range of perspectives, especially from BIPOC authors.
IMPORTANT: Please don’t submit shallow and broad article topics like “3 Tips For Parenting Kids in 2024”.  As a blog, we want to address specific problems of mothers.
Length and Formatting
- Ideal posts are anywhere between 800-1200 words.
- Use clear headings, and short paragraphs (avoid walls of texts!).
- Use bullet points and tables whenever necessary for easy reading.
Visual Content
- Include a high-quality featured image in your article. The required dimension is 730px by 472px.
- Ensure they are high-resolution and have the proper permissions. Credit all sources.
Editorial Review
All submissions undergo an editorial review. We might edit your article for clarity and coherence with our style.

- Email your article or article ideas to shannon[dot]motherhoodsoc[at]gmail[dot]com. If you already have the article ready, please send it as a Google Doc link.
- Use the subject line: GUEST CONTRIBUTION from [your name]
We’ll review and respond within 24 hours.
Do we pay for articles?
We occasionally pay a small fee for submissions. However, this depends on the quality and if the article is written by a real mom. On the flip side, we ask for a small publishing fee for businesses and corporations. Reach out to us if you want to clarify where you fall under.
